Nenana To Nome:
A Trip Of A Lifetime

Photos From The Nenana Start         Feb. 18th, 2007

The historic Nenana train depot, where the serum run begins.

The Moderow family dog truck, designed to comfortably carry 20 dogs!

Mark Moderow and Hannah Moderow prepare Hannah's sled before the start.

A snowmachine with a completely loaded sled. Each musher has a designated snowmachiner that will help carry gear... The snowmachine sleds carry dog food, camping gear, straw for the dogs, and other important equipment!

Another snowmachine that will travel from Nenana to Nome on the Serum Run 2007.

A train on the Alaska Railroad arrives carrying a load of Serum that the mushers will carry over the trail, commemorating the role that dog teams played in saving the town of Nome in 1925.

Hannah hooks up her team, just minutes away from taking off down the trail.

Stony is clipped into the line, wearing a dog coat to keep him comfortable in the cold weather!

Hannah departs on the Serum Run!
