Nenana To Nome:
A Trip Of A Lifetime
A Little History:
In 1925, a dog team relay saved the town of Nome by carrying life-saving serum through some of the harshest weather conditions Alaska can provide.
More than six decades later, a 19 day event was created by legendary adventurer Norman Vaughan that retraces the 768 mile historic route. Each year mushers and snowmachines team up to participate in this event. The event website can be found at: www.serumrun.org
This page will provide daily audio updates live from the trail as Mark, Debbie and Hannah Moderow travel the historic route by dog team and snowmachine. These reports will share the experience of traveling through rural Alaska with listeners far, far away.
Updates will be made via Satellite phone from the trail - Daily updates are anticipated, but please be aware that technical difficulties may occur.
