About This Photo: Replacement sleds await their mushers at the McGrath checkpoint during the 2006 Iditarod. Crossing the Alaska range requires an extremely well built sled. Because of this reality, mushers often ship new sleds to McGrath to replace their heavier, and often broken, 'start' sleds. |
