About This Photo: Karen Ramstead leaves Willow shortly after the restart of Iditarod 2005. Karen is one of a few mushers that still races purebred Siberian Huskies today - Most mushers race a type of 'mutt', commonly referred to as an 'Alaskan Husky'. This picture shows the variety of lines mushers use to attach their dogs to the sled. |
